Perform engineering work of electrical systems and component development efforts as related to vehicle electrical systems, multiplexed system design, embedded control systems, hybrid electrical drive systems and advanced vehicle components. Position may include the supervision of engineers and designers. Perform high level engineering analysis and design of new and modified components and subsystems in accordance with engineering standards and project scope.YOUR IMPACTResponsible for integration of electrical components and circuitry into vehicle designsWork with SAE, Federal, and NFPA Standards for design compliancePlan and direct engineering in a major project through all phases of innovation and developmentEstablishes priorities for work delegated to othersWork closely with other engineering groupsAssist in feasibility studies and project estimates on proposed projectsSupport proposal developmentDirects preparation of layouts, drawings, specification, and bills of materialSelect parts and/or design components for cost and quality-conscious design to meet service applicationsConsult with suppliers, customers, & members of Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Assembly, Service, and Testing, Quality Control, and Marketing departmentsFollow project on the assembly floor through initial build and render assistance necessary to support manufacturing and industrial engineering effortsUtilize various state-of-the-art engineering tools, i.e. personal computer and CAD equipmentPossess a strong electrical knowledge of vehicles, electrical theory, electrical component and related systemsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering3-plus years of experience working with truck/mobile equipmentSTANDOUT QUALIFICATIONSRelevant design experience with vehicle electrical systemsWorking knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systemsStrong oral and written communication skillsExperience with automotive or heavy-duty equipmentStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience with E3 series or other electrical CAD softwareDesign experience with Controller Area Network (CAN)/SAE J1939 and/or Vehicle Networking.Electrical troubleshooting/root cause/corrective action experience.Wire Harness design expertise and process improvement experience.#OSK1917Pay Range: $72,200.00 - $116,200.00The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations.
