Salary: $45,000 - $57,000 per year (based on experience)About the RoleHOSCO SHIFT INC. is seeking a Food Safety & Quality Assurance Specialist to lead compliance within our kitchen operations and guide our company through USDA certification.You must have direct experience with USDA certification in a commercial kitchen operation, including audits and inspections, food safety compliance, and training kitchen teams.This role is critical in preparing our facility for regulatory approval, maintaining compliance with USDA standards, and strengthening our food safety programs.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the company's efforts to obtain and maintain USDA certification for kitchen operationsImplement, monitor, and improve the Safe Quality Food (SQF) programEnsure compliance with USDA, FDA, HACCP, GMPs, and ServSafe standardsMaintain and update food safety documentation, SOPs, and records for audits and inspectionsTrain and coach kitchen staff on compliance and food safety best practicesLead and support internal and external audits (USDA inspectors, SQF auditors, and customer audits)Identify and address non-conformances through corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs)Verify suppliers and ingredients meet USDA and company standardsMonitor product quality and perform routine safety checks/testingPartner with operations to implement continuous improvementQualifications2+ years of food safety or quality assurance experience in a USDA-regulated, commercial kitchen, commissary, or food manufacturing environmentProven track record with USDA certification, inspection readiness, and audit managementHACCP Certification (required)SQF Practitioner Certification (preferred, or ability to obtain within 90 days)ServSafe Manager Certification (preferred)Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, compliance, and training practicesExcellent organizational and communication skillsEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field (preferred)A combination of education, professional training, and relevant job experience will also be consideredWhy Join UsCompetitive pay with full medical, dental, and vision benefitsPTO, sick days, and wellness time401(k) with company matchTuition reimbursement and professional growth opportunitiesEmployee discounts and EAP supportA positive, mission-driven culture where your work makes a direct impactImportant NotesThis role is onsite in St. Louis, MO (No relocation assistance is provided)Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (No visa sponsorship is available now or in the future)Why Join Hosco Shift Inc.?Inclusive Culture: Be part of a mission-driven organization committed to food innovation and community impact.
