This academic-affiliated, Level 1 Trauma Center is located on a 58-acre campus in downtown Fresno. It features one of the largest and busiest emergency departments in California as well as a comprehensive burn center. Responsibilities: Works limited time status under the direction of the RN mentor to provide patient care using defined procedures and standards in accordance with the goals of the unit and the philosophy of Community Medical Centers. This position is eligible for becoming an Extern 2 - Work Study once all criteria has been met.In this 47-bed unit, you will care for a diverse patient population with various surgical cardiac and neuro comorbidities, including post-open heart, Left Ventricular Assist Device, Pulmonary Hypertension trauma, epilepsy, brain tumors, spinal injury, and more! You should be a self-motivated team player eager to learn and ready to contribute to the efforts of this close-knit team.   • High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required
  • Enrolled in a school of nursing. Completion of first semester in an ADN Nursing Program or second semester in a BSN Nursing Program. Enrolled in the work study program associated with school of nursing attended required
Licenses and Certifications
  • BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required
