The role is responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and executing specialized technical processes within an automotive manufacturing environment, with a primary focus on maintenance activities in the Engine Engineering Department. This position ensures optimal equipment performance, process reliability, and operational efficiency while supporting organizational goals and objectives.
Essential Functions
- Lead, coordinate, and support technical activities that align with departmental and organizational objectives.
- Provide expert technical direction for problem identification, troubleshooting, and resolution, including the development of effective countermeasures.
- Oversee spare parts and materials management to ensure timely support for maintenance and production operations.
- Apply knowledge of engine automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, nut-runners, vision systems, grading, sealing, adhesives, leak testing, and related programming and operational parameters.
- Maintain, support, and adjust quality-related systems such as press force monitoring, nut-runners, 2D vision systems, click wrenches, laser sensors, leak test units, and other specialized equipment in the Engine Division.
- Ensure compliance with established process change protocols.
- Collaborate with MES and IT teams to resolve production line system issues.
- Apply knowledge of engine theory, assembly processes, and manufacturing strategies to improve performance and quality.
- Develop, organize, and maintain technical documentation and reports related to departmental activities.
- Deliver technical training, guidance, and mentorship to team members as required.
- Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and product quality.
- Prepare and present technical information to stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 5+ years in a manufacturing environment serving in a technical capacity, preferably in the automotive or industrial sectors.
- Experience with engine-related systems, automation equipment, and process optimization preferred.
- PLC programming experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with AutoCAD, SAP/ERP systems, and CMMS.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
