GPAC is actively recruiting on behalf of a well-established steel fabrication and erection company known for delivering high-quality structural and miscellaneous metalwork. We are seeking an experienced Steel Estimator to support pre-construction efforts by preparing accurate and competitive bids for structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects.This is a full-time, direct-hire position offering strong growth potential and the opportunity to work with a collaborative, detail-oriented team.Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for structural steel and miscellaneous metals (e.g., stairs, railings, catwalks).
- Analyze construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
- Perform material takeoffs and generate accurate quantity estimates.
- Solicit vendor and subcontractor pricing for materials and services.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and fabrication teams.
- Utilize industry-standard estimating software to generate proposals and bid packages.
- Participate in bid reviews and value-engineering discussions.
- Track project changes and adjust estimates accordingly.
- Minimum 3 years of estimating experience in steel fabrication and/or erection.
- Strong knowledge of structural steel and/or miscellaneous metals is required.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and structural drawings.
- Comfortable using industry-related software such as Tekla, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Fabtrol, or similar platforms.
- Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and time management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred, not required).
- Field experience in steel erection or fabrication is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with project management workflows and fabrication processes.
