- Create a high-level safety strategy for Woven's AD/ADAS and software products, from testing and development to deployment and post-deployment.
- Collaborate with engineering leaders, and leverage the TPS (Toyota Production System) to ensure everything we do centers on safety first, particularly with cutting-edge SDV technology. Creating a Safety First culture.
- Make recommendations to the Head of Global Safety and Quality on safety-critical decisions, including issues escalated through the Safety Committees.
- Manage Safety Committee processes, including intake, deliberation, and documentation.
- Partner with compliance and engineering leaders to identify and mitigate safety risks and to be compliant with safety regulations
- Develop and execute policies relating to safety in the software development context
- Assist Global Head of Safety and Quality in safety-critical decision-making relating to testing, development, and deployment of AD/ADAS and software products.
- Negotiate and create a safety-acceptance process for delivery of software-defined AD/ADAS products to OEM, including safety requirements, testing/V&V, and argument framework
- Conduct gap analysis throughout the organization and mitigate identified safety risks.
- Engage with regulatory agencies, trade associations, and advocacy groups to advocate for policies that advance automotive safety and innovation while addressing regulatory concerns and challenges
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in automotive safety, regulatory affairs, policy development, or related fields.
- Strong leadership experience in safety critical systems and functional safety with a focus on software-defined vehicles and AD/ADAS
- Demonstrated expertise in creating a safety-first culture, driving software quality through standardized processes, methods, and tools.
- Strong cross functional collaboration skills, preferably including engineering and legal stakeholders.
- Experience with safety assurance in the software development context
- Comfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities
- Ability to calibrate risk tolerance to the needs of the organization
- ISO 26262 / ISO 21448 / Functional Safety expertise
- Strong familiarity with full range of AV/ADAS standards and BPs (SAE AVSC, ISO, UNECE, UL 4600, RSS)
- Experience working in multicultural teams and openness to various cultures
- Known as a strategic leader, with a deep passion for creating critical safety technology
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams. Have led diverse global teams preferred
