A Real Estate Company is looking for a Controller with real estate/property management accounting experience. If you don’t have that background, this won’t be a fit.Reporting Structure:Reports directly to the CFO, with dotted-line relationships to the Director of Accounting and the President.The Team:9 direct reportsSeveral new hires are starting this year and will need coaching and development.The Role:Traditional property management accounting with a heavy focus on financial reporting.Multiple P&L responsibility, including maintenance and fractional ownership setups.CRA and HUD reporting.General ledger, cash accounts, and bank reconciliations.Year one priority will be to stabilize the books.Lead, mentor, and balance both long-tenured and junior staff while implementing better processes.Qualifications:Real estate/property management accounting experience required (residential experience is a plus).Prior Controller experience strongly preferred.Experience managing 5+ direct reports, with 5+ years of supervisory experience.Solid financial reporting expertise; analytical and process improvement mindset.Strong communicator who can adapt to different personalities, coach junior staff, and guide tenured team members through change.
