Join us!Senior Security EngineerRemotePOSITION SUMMARY:We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Security Engineer with extensive expertise in network security to join our team. This role will focus primarily on managing and securing our network perimeter through Palo Alto firewalls and AWS security groups (approximately 75% of the time). The remaining time will be dedicated to reviewing and analyzing security alerts, ensuring that threats are identified, triaged, and addressed appropriately.The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in both independent work and collaborative environments. This person must demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and research issues effectively, take full ownership of tasks, and drive them to completion.RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage, configure, and optimize Palo Alto firewalls to maintain a secure and resilient network environment.
  • Design, implement, and review AWS security groups and related cloud security controls.
  • Conduct proactive monitoring and review security alerts to identify potential threats and escalate or remediate as needed.
  • Troubleshoot complex network and security issues independently, providing clear resolutions and documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to design secure network and cloud architectures.
  • Perform ongoing research into emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security best practices.
  • Take ownership of assigned activities and ensure timely delivery with high-quality outcomes.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related IT field
  • 10+ years of related security engineering experience
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls (design, implementation, and ongoing management required).
  • Strong knowledge of AWS security concepts, including security groups, IAM, and cloud networking (highly desired).
  • Experience with security alerting and monitoring tools such as Splunk, SentinelOne, and Zscaler (nice to have).
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of issues and drive them to resolution.
Preferred Certifications (not required):
  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)
  • AWS Certified Security – Specialty or Solutions Architect
  • GIAC, CISSP, or similar security certifications

The salary range for this opportunity is $106,000 - $134,000. Base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job related knowledge, skills and experience, among other factors.
