- Perform set-up, calibration, testing and fixing of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies.
- Prepare technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems.
- May resolve selection and set-up of specialized test equipment.
- Perform ongoing daily work with minimal instruction, and ability to prioritize based on daily needs and information.
- Able to work in a 10K and class 100 cleanroom environment and follow cleanroom protocols.
- May provide work assignment direction and technical training to peers.
- Review manufacturing test and repair processes and make changes necessary.
- Collaborate with diverse groups to build, solve problems, change processes and improve reliability of parts, test fixture and systems.
- Resolve and develop test specifications, methods and procedures from schematics, drawings, and diagrams for manufacturing to follow.
- Find/evaluate obsolete parts.
- BS or MS degree in electrical engineering, systems engineering or other related engineering degrees.
- 2 to 5 years of related experience.
- Stand, sit, bend, and at times lift 50 pounds with assistance.
- Experience with systems development and testing, including formulating system level requirements, test specifications and test results.
- Lab test equipment like Oscilloscopes, DVM/DMM, function generator, current meter and spectrum analyzer.
- Experience using hand tools like torque wrenches, feeler gauges, Allen wrenches, different size screw drivers, taps.
- Experience in using mechanical measurement tools like, calipers, gauge blocks, Dial indicators and depth micrometers.
- Demonstrate excellent organization skills, with a logical approach to problem solving, good time management and task prioritization.
- Work with little or no instruction on routine work, and with general instructions on new assignments.
- Experience testing digital and/or analog components and systems.
- Demonstrate the ability to read and comprehend complicated drawings, mathematics, and handbook formulas, and use a variety of testing and measuring instruments.
- LabView, Linux and MS Office suite software knowledge.
- Mechanical proficiency is required.
- Learn, collaborate within a multi-functional team, and strive for continuous improvement.
- Experience in quality process: data collection, testing, corrective actions, documentation and process implementation.
- Experience on working with lasers, safety, power and operations a plus.
