- highly organized and able to fulfill, coordinate, and communicate multiple priorities
- unafraid to ask for help or to ask questions
- adept in basic Google and Microsoft skills (Drive, Sheets, Docs, Outlook)
- enthusiastically committed to the position through June 2026
- proven track record of driving a vehicle safely in a professional context. Our work is site semi-rural and currently inaccessible via public transit: reliable access to a vehicle is required. This job will also require regularly driving a Duke vehicle.
- strong in their research skills, and written and verbal communications skills
- comfortable with 10-12 hours/week of physical work in an outdoor environment
- able to lift 25 lbs unassisted
- strong demonstrated interest in equity and/or intersectional food systems work
- demonstrated experience in direct stakeholder engagement, organizing, and/or facilitation
- experience serving as an ambassador for a group or program
- prior experience with sustainable agriculture, food security, food sovereignty and/or campus farms
