
Senior Civil Project Manager – Data Center Construction

- Lead the full lifecycle of civil construction projects, from preconstruction through commissioning.
- Develop and manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders including city officials, tribal representatives, and regulatory bodies.
- Ensure alignment across all parties and maintain clear, consistent communication.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to land use, permitting, and environmental impact.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including protected land protocols.
- Enforce safety standards and conduct regular site audits.
- Ensure all civil work meets quality specifications and industry standards.
- Manage project budgets and financial tracking.
- Implement cost control measures and ensure adherence to financial targets.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules.
- Monitor progress and implement corrective actions to avoid delays.
- Manage contractor performance and ensure compliance with contract terms.
- Oversee civil scope execution and resolve field issues as needed.
- Maintain accurate project documentation including drawings, permits, reports, and submittals.
- Provide regular updates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Support final inspections and commissioning activities.
- Facilitate smooth handover to operations teams.
- SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in civil project management, ideally in data center or large-scale commercial infrastructure.
- Strong background in municipal coordination, especially with the City of San Jose or similar agencies.
- Experience working with tribal land, protected land, and complex permitting processes.
- Familiarity with civil scopes such as grading, drainage, utilities, and site development.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Procore).
- Knowledge of relevant safety regulations (e.g., OSHA), building codes, and environmental standards.
- Certifications such as CCM or PMP are a plus.
