Head Girls' Volleyball CoachWhat You Will DoThe Episcopal Academy is seeking a head girls' volleyball coach to start a volleyball program. We intend to begin a middle school program next fall. This position will eventually lead a vertically aligned successful 6-12 program. Strong candidates for the role will have a track record of success and possess a passion for working with young people as both athletes and human beings. This role is charged with building and then overseeing our program in the upper school to ensure that our student-athletes, at all levels and abilities, receive consistently strong coaching and mentoring while focusing on a developmental aspect of our middle school program. The girls' volleyball coach will lead a top-tier program, which requires flexibility in working hours, including some evening and weekend work.About YouIdeal candidates for this position will possess the following:
  • A bachelor's degree
  • Playing experience preferred
  • 3 years of coaching at the interscholastic varsity level or higher required
  • A deep commitment to player well-being and success, on and off the court.
  • Ability to hire, train, and manage a capable and knowledgeable girls' volleyball staff.
  • The skills to help ensure that all players at all ability levels are growing and improving.
  • Superb tactical, organizational, motivational, and communication skills.
  • A desire to build a positive and inclusive team culture.
  • A proven ability to identify, recruit, and yield the top players in our area.
  • A proven capacity to lead a varsity team to success in a competitive league and region.
  • A commitment to staying current with the latest ideas in coaching girls' volleyball and athletics more broadly.
  • The skills to provide consistently clear, positive, and productive communication with players, families, and members of the faculty.
  • Belief in the value of student-athletes playing multiple sports.
  • A commitment to supervise all travel, contests, activities, and events for the upper school program including JV and game management.
  • Ability to plan creative and effective practice plans for your teams at all levels.
  • Ability to serve as a resource for our student-athletes who aspire to play collegiately.
  • A commitment to facilitate, train, and build programming for students in our Middle School and Lower School.
