- Ensure café teams consistently and proudly deliver superior coffee and unforgettable customer service at every opportunity
- Build and maintain team cohesion and morale through regular 1 on 1 meetings; hold the team accountable for results and efficiencies.
- Able to perform multi-management duties across both cafes
- Engage, and build deep community relationships by delivering a “coffee for everyone” style of customer service
- Maintain complete knowledge of all coffee and retail products, stay up to date on emerging initiatives, promotions, and policies and communicate to the barista team accordingly
- Stay up to date on coffee education, including participating in and completing required coffee trainings
- Execute marketing initiatives and systems for increasing operational efficiency and profitability of the store while improving the bottom line and controlling costs
- Track sales performance of all products and provide suggestions to the leadership team on how to grow the business
- Maintain inventory and supplies; place orders when needed
- Perform or schedule maintenance on all equipment, and ensure facility maintenance, sanitation and cleanliness is being executed
- Keep the front and back of the house clean and organized at all times
- Recruit, hire, oversee training, and manage a team of baristas that provide a consistent experience.
- Promote ongoing training and development of team to include providing regular feedback and development
- Create and maintain schedules for employees, updating availabilities as needed
- Manage employee’s time and attendance compliance. This includes working with supervising personnel in the identification of non-complaint patterns and behavior and corrective action processes.
- Must have flexibility with workdays, hours and holidays; must have the ability to fill in for employees as dictated by business needs
- Participate in and support external company events as needed
- Accurately manage time worked and tip activity through the company’s timekeeping system
- Passionate about coffee, great work ethic, and willingness to learn
- Positive attitude, strong communication and leadership skills
- Three (3) years of supervision or retail management experience preferred. Specialty café/roastery experience a plus.
- Demonstrate the ability to multitask while providing necessary attention to detail
- Demonstrate the ability to successfully oversee a team with a positive attitude, great communication, and strong leadership skills
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with both employees and customers while providing high levels of service
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record, proof of minimum required liability insurance for operation of personal vehicle
