- Manage the entire used vehicle department, from appraisal to retail sale.
- Source inventory through auctions, trade-ins, and other channels to maintain an optimal and profitable mix of vehicles.
- Set competitive pricing strategies based on market trends, demand, and profitability targets.
- Collaborate with the reconditioning team to ensure vehicles are front-line ready quickly and cost-effectively.
- Develop and execute online and on-lot merchandising strategies.
- Train, motivate, and support the used car sales team to achieve performance targets.
- Monitor and analyze department metrics (inventory turn, gross profit, sales volume, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with dealership policies and all applicable regulations.
- 3+ years of experience in automotive management, with at least 2 years focused on used car operations.
- Prior experience in a dealership environment is required; Franchise experience is a plus.
- Proven success in inventory management, vehicle acquisition, and team leadership.
- Strong understanding of used car market trends, appraisal tools (e.g., vAuto), and DMS/CRM systems.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
