The ideal candidate will bring deep automotive knowledge, strong leadership, and a track record of success in used car operations within a franchise dealership environment.Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the entire used vehicle department, from appraisal to retail sale.
  • Source inventory through auctions, trade-ins, and other channels to maintain an optimal and profitable mix of vehicles.
  • Set competitive pricing strategies based on market trends, demand, and profitability targets.
  • Collaborate with the reconditioning team to ensure vehicles are front-line ready quickly and cost-effectively.
  • Develop and execute online and on-lot merchandising strategies.
  • Train, motivate, and support the used car sales team to achieve performance targets.
  • Monitor and analyze department metrics (inventory turn, gross profit, sales volume, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with dealership policies and all applicable regulations.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in automotive management, with at least 2 years focused on used car operations.
  • Prior experience in a dealership environment is required; Franchise experience is a plus.
  • Proven success in inventory management, vehicle acquisition, and team leadership.
  • Strong understanding of used car market trends, appraisal tools (e.g., vAuto), and DMS/CRM systems.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
