Overview:UMIAQ Design is looking for an experienced Engineering Drafter/AutoCAD Technician to be a part of our engineering group. Work will include drafting utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D to support design and construction of large and small projects throughout Alaska, including roads, water & sewer systems, urban and rural site development, and other heavy civil design projects. Additional work may include survey-related drafting such as developing plats, as-built drawings, and easement documents. Responsibilities:Responsibilites:
Work with a group of other drafters under the direction of the Engineering Manager, supporting Engineers and Project Managers.
Develop design drawings in accordance with project requirements and company standards.
Prepare preliminary designs based on criteria provided by the engineers and incorporate red-line changes to drawings.
Maintain high quality and up-to-date drawing files and structure.
Required Skills:
Must be proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and the development of civil and mechanical engineering construction drawings.
Additional required skills include a well-developed attention to detail, good organizational skills, ability to apply drafting guidelines, and ability to interpret survey data, maps and graphical data.
ESRI or Revit software experience considered a plus but not required.
Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience working as an AutoCAD Technician producing civil engineering design/construction drawings; or
AAS in Computer Aided Drafting and Design would account for two of the three years of required experience.
Physical and Mental Demands:
Ability to sit for extended periods working at a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally (e.g., lift rolls or boxes of paper).
Requires mental focus and attention to detail when preparing drawings.
Must be able to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions:
Work is primarily performed in an office environment with standard office equipment.
Standard work hours with some overtime or adjusted schedules based on project deadlines.
