
Hardware Engineer

- Design, develop, and implement a hardware control system to operate the microfluidic system.
- Integrate custom-designed PCB circuits, sensors, actuators, microcontrollers, and simple graphical user interfaces for automated system control.
- Optimize hardware performance, reliability, and scalability for research applications.
- Work closely with interdisciplinary research teams to ensure the system meets experimental and operational requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years of related experience.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
- Hands-on electronics hardware development and manufacturing experience for control systems, instrumentation, or automation.
- Extensive experience in hardware development for control systems, instrumentation, or automation.
- Experiences in firmware and software development that enable seamless hardware-software integration.
- Equipment Utilized:
- Power supply, function generator, oscilloscope, and other equipment to develop hardware.
- Strong expertise in PCB circuit design and layout for instrument control
- Experience in integrating hardware components such as microcontrollers, actuators, and sensors
- Proficiency in embedded systems programming, signal processing, and communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, USB)
- Proficiency in graphical user interface implementation using languages such as Matlab, Python, Lab-View, or others
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced interdisciplinary research environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for documentation and collaboration.
