As we continue to grow, we are looking for passionate and experienced professionals to help drive our business growth and manage our teams for greater success.We are seeking a Project Manager to manage the company’s construction business operations, ensure we are positioned for continued growth, and guarantee successful project delivery to our clients. The Project Manager must understand construction, projection management, project estimation, scheduling, costs, and overall project profitability. In addition, the candidate should have experience in developing an organization’s infrastructure, workflow, internal communications, and critical business processes. This individual will have hands-on field experience, understand client expectations, have a clear ability to build relationships with clients and vendors, and have a high standard for quality work. The successful candidate will be an innovative and self-motivated leader with a high degree of maturity, personal integrity, and strong interpersonal skills.Position OverviewAs member of the Administrative Team reporting to the Vice-President and President, the Project Manager will work closely with the President to develop and estimate new projects, manage existing construction projects, communicate constantly and effectively with the construction team, and liaise with vendors and third-party contractors related to the project. This position will hold a crucial role in our team as it will serve as the main conduit of communication between the President, clients, and internal staff on anything related to current and future construction projects.Key Responsibilities
  • Estimate new construction projects and manage sales and upgrades on existing projects
  • Maintain consistent client communication with project updates, issues, and tracking progress
  • Liaise and manage construction subcontractors, vendors, and partners
  • Manage all aspects of project entitlements and permitting
  • Strategically plan and continuously review the efficiency of each project
  • Manage and maintain project profitability
  • Communicate, document, and manage project change orders
  • Train field and administrative staff on new landscape construction products and methods
  • Supervise, coach, and discipline all construction field, supervisory, and production staff
  • Achieve construction goals and oversee project benchmarks
  • Proactively utilize Aspire as a tool to develop business processes and enhance utilization of the software
  • Analyze Aspire reports daily for individual projects and the overall construction division
  • Become intimately knowledgeable about each client, contract, and project
  • Identify issues, prioritize needs, and oversee business functions, including field operations and office administration
  • Understand and master Aspire to support the business across all departments and functions, especially related to construction projects and crew management
  • Drive productivity and efficiency improvements
  • Be flexible with work schedule
Skills and Requirements
  • Minimum of two years of administrative experience supporting executives in a corporate environment
  • Hands-on field experience with project management, project estimation, and landscape construction
  • Understanding of client expectations and ability to build relationships
  • Knowledge of construction and landscape service needs, with a focus on quality
  • Excellent computer proficiency in both Mac & Windows environments, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Microsoft 365, and ability to master other software
  • Familiarity with Aspire or ability to master it within 3 months
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, make decisions, and change course of action quickly with clear communication to all interested parties
  • Comfortable in fast-paced environments
  • Exceptional organizational and follow-thru skills
  • Ability to work on many projects simultaneously
  • Excellent and professional interpersonal and phone skills
  • Valid California Driver’s License
