Job Description:Role Summary/Purpose:Reporting to the VP, of Model Governance, this role requires an extensive understanding or background in model governance processes, policy and procedure, regulatory expectations, e.g., SR-11-7/OCC 2011-12, in model risk management, as well as experience supporting the overall governance process.Our Way of WorkingWe’re proud to offer you choice and flexibility. Occasionally you may be required to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as business or team meetings, training and culture events.Essential Responsibilities:Support the ongoing refinements of the Bank’s Model Risk Management Policy and Standards. Lead the development and enhancement of procedures and control frameworks to ensure regulatory compliance and effective model risk management. Design and automate controls execution process to monitor adherence to governance standards, promptly detecting and remediating gaps.Design, implement, and continuously enhance Model Risk Management reporting for senior management, outlining model risk at both individual and aggregate model levels.Maintain and monitor the model risk inventory and associated controls, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely remediation of governance exceptions.Serve as a key member of the Model Risk Working Group, challenging validation outcomes and model classifications to uphold governance standards.Act as the Subject Matter Expert for model governance, collaborating with business lines, validation, and development teams to guide and navigate ambiguous situations.Act as the primary liaison and SME on model governance matters in interactions with business lines, validation teams, and other risk functions. Closely partner with model validation and development teams, providing governance-related guidance to address complex and ambiguous situations.Manage and coordinate the exception approval process to the Standards.Support regulatory examinations and internal audits related to model governance, facilitating the exam process as needed.Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.Qualifications/Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business, or a related field, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in model risk management or governance within banking or financial services; 6 years of experience required for candidates with a master’s degree.Thorough knowledge of regulatory frameworks governing model risk, including SR 11-7 and other related regulatory guidelines.Experience in policy/procedures development and governance control framework oversight.Proficiency with analytical/reporting tools (Excel, SQL, Python, Tableau, SAS, or equivalent).Experience supporting regulatory exams and internal audit processes.Excellent communication skills and ability to engage and influence stakeholders at various levels.Proven ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and functions.Desired Characteristics:Advanced degree (MBA, MS, MSc) or professional certifications (FRM, CFA, PRM).Demonstrated leadership in managing governance projects or cross-functional teams.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment in complex, ambiguous environments.Experience presenting model risk issues and governance topics to senior leadership and committees.5+ years of model risk governance with deep understanding of model risk management policy, procedure, and regulatory expectations (SR 11-7/OCC 2011-12) in model risk management;2+ years of model risk reporting experience using programming languages, e.g., Python, SQl, SAS;Familiarity with consumer lending products and practices;Proven experience managing control frameworks, model inventories, and governance reporting.Grade/Level: 12The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.Eligibility Requirements:You must be 18 years or olderYou must have a high school diploma or equivalentYou must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding processYou must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.
