DescriptionLead Engagement Specialist (LES)Examples of DutiesUnder general direction, performs major daily and project/program based administrative duties. Recommends and administers divisional/departmental policies and procedures. Prepares regular and special reports related to divisional/departmental operations. Performs other job-related duties as required.Minimum QualificationsA High School Diploma or GED is required. A Bachelor's Degree in Business/Public Relations or closely related field from a four-year accredited college or university is required. Two years of full time paid expeience in government or private industry office administration is required. (Substitution: Two years of full time experience may substitute for each year of college education lacking.) Must be able to operate a personal computer with Microsoft Office Suites.Supplemental InformationKey Responsibilities * Client Support and Advocacy:
  • Build and maintain relationships with families affected by lead exposure, offering
emotional and practical support. * Serve as a liaison and advocate for families, helping them navigate the applicationprocess for the Lead Hazard Control Program. * Develop tailored plans of action with families and landlords to address housingsafety issues related to lead exposure. * Provide ongoing support and follow-up to ensure the completion of the leadabatement process and track family progress. * Community Outreach and Engagement:
  • Work closely with the Cleveland Department of Health (CDPH), community
organizations, and other stakeholders to identify families in need. * Conduct outreach in neighborhoods to educate residents about lead hazards,testing, and abatement programs. * Collaborate with housing and community development teams to address broaderquality-of-life issues for families. * Program Coordination and Resource Management:
  • Assist families in accessing city programs, nonprofit services, and community
resources related to housing, healthcare, and environmental safety. * Coordinate home inspections and ensure families are connected to lead riskassessments and abatement contractors. * Gather and document client data to assess the effectiveness of interventions andmeasure programs impact. * Maintain accurate records of client interactions, housing assessments, andprogress reports. * Collaboration and Communication:
  • Partner with other city departments, nonprofit organizations, and healthcare
professionals to create a comprehensive support network for affected families. * Communicate across multiple platforms (social media, printed materials,workshops, etc.) to share updates on lead hazard initiatives. * Work with the CES Manager, CDPH, and Council Members to prioritizeneighborhoods and properties for lead inspections and remediation efforts. Preferred Department Qualifications
  • Valid Driver's license and reliable transportation for conducting home visits and
attending community meetings. * Experience working with ESL (English as a Second Language) and/or Bilingual orMultilingual proficiency. * Public Speaking is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Communications, or a related field.
  • Experience in community engagement, public health, social work, or advocacy.
  • Community Health Worker
  • Ability to work with diverse populations and handle sensitive situations with empathy
