- Synthesize and functionalize hydrogel precursors
- Characterize structure and properties of materials
- Provide materials for biological testing and assist with testing as appropriate
- Maintain records
- Prepare reports and presentations
- Prepare abstracts and present at meetings
- Prepare manuscripts for submission to scientific journals
- Mentor junior lab members
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ph.D. in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science and engineering, biomedical engineering, or a related field.
- Organic chemistry and synthesis methods
- Characterization of polymeric materials
- Proficiency in data processing, analysis, and technical presentation
- Excellent organizational and data management skills
- Ability to work cooperatively with others.
