- Ensure that issues, problems and opportunities are consistently monitored for successful resolution
- Monitor work flow and initiate staffing reassignments as necessary
- Direct work tasks in conjunction with the area manager to assist in adequately managing fluctuating volumes
- Provide feedback to departmental management regarding Team performance and productivity
- Support the achievement of departmental goals through the A3 process by collaborating with the Manager to generate A3s’ and assure the execution of action items as assigned to the Team.
- Maintain the team discipline of following all elements of the established standard processes (work management, tools, SOPs)
- Work with HPWT to maintain an efficient, clean and professional work area
- Assure that daily and weekly 6S activities are conducted by the Team
- Coordinate work and lunch schedules for the Team to ensure coverage as required
- Lead shift briefings to:
- Communicate revenue cycle information and changes in process, policy and procedure
- Identify educational and mediation needs through shift briefings and observation
- Notify departmental management of schedule changes and training issues
- In the absence of the manager, serve as a point of primary contact for patient complaints and/or customer issues.
- Represent the department at scheduled meetings as requested by Manager
- Monitor equipment, hardware maintenance and software updates and report malfunctions and initiating corrective actions when necessary
- Develop team training tools and educate team members to support the department in achieving established performance targets
- Follows the Corporate Guidelines related to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), designed to prevent or detect unauthorized disclosure of Protected Health Information (PHI)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Must be a self-starter with ability to work independently and make sound and necessary decisions.
- Must be able to effectively handle sensitive and stressful situations and confidential patient account information
- Knowledge of basic computer skills to include M/S Office, Internet search capabilities, and general office equipment
- Provides leadership by planning, directing and leading the activities of assigned staff.
- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
- The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
- The conditions to which the employee will be subject in this position: the employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; job functions are typically performed under conditions such as those found in general office or administrative work.
