- Wind AC/DC electric motor stators, both random and form coil, armatures, and field frames
- Assemble, repair, and maintain electric motors
- Rewind and produce coils
- Replace and prepare components like stator cores and armatures
- Disassemble large motors assist during rewind process and occasionally reassemble the unit
- Replace defective coil leads and perform with oxy/acetylene brazing of connections of coils in specify sequence.
- Prepare motor for dipping
- Test to ensure that repairs were successful
- Able to use testing equipment (ex. Baker, PdMA, Core Tester, Infrared Camera)
- Perform final inspections
- Proficient knowledge of the different winding connections, insulations and welding/soldering
- Maintain and repair other electromechanical and electromagnetic components and industrial equipment
- Use a welder, torches, band saw, drill press, etc.
- Assist in manufacturing of new electrical components and motors
