Job Summary: The Outside Logistics Specialist plays a vital role in the company’s logistics operations, focusing on material handling, inventory management, shipping and receiving and fleet shuttle driving. This position ensures that materials are efficiently prepared for delivery or pickup, inventory is accurately managed and fleet operations run smoothly.Key Responsibilities:Material Handling & Staging:Pull materials from inventory according to work orders or customer requirements.Stage materials efficiently and securely for scheduled pickups and deliveries.Ensure the accuracy and quality of materials staged for distribution.Inventory Management:Conduct regular inventory counts and update records to ensure accuracy.Report and resolve discrepancies in stock levels or material locations.Collaborate with the warehouse team to optimize storage and material flow.Shipping & Receiving:Coordinate the timely shipping and receiving of materials.Unload incoming shipments and inspect for damage or inaccuracies.Ensure proper documentation for shipments and deliveries (e.g., packing slips, bills of lading).Work with internal teams to schedule and prioritize incoming and outgoing shipments.Fleet Shuttle Driver:Drive the company fleet shuttle to transport materials between various locations, including job sites, warehouses, or vendor facilities.Ensure the shuttle is properly maintained and follow safety protocols during transportation.Load and unload materials safely and efficiently from the shuttle.Maintain logs of vehicle usage, including fuel, mileage, and maintenance records.General Logistics Support:Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely deliveries.Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the logistics yard, warehouse, and shipping areas.Communicate effectively with customers and vendors regarding delivery schedules and material requirements.Follow all safety guidelines and policies while operating equipment or vehicles.Other duties as assigned.Skills & Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent; additional logistics or supply chain certification is a plus.Proven experience in logistics, warehouse management, or material handling.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Ability to lift and move heavy materials (physical stamina required).Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.Forklift operation experience is desirable.Ability to use inventory management software and basic office applications.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Work Environment:This position requires work both indoors and outdoors, often in varying weather conditions.Safety equipment such as gloves, safety shoes, and high-visibility clothing must be worn when required.This role requires someone who is adaptable, efficient, and reliable, and plays a key part in ensuring smooth operations within the logistics function.Bottom of Form.
