- Test Design - Review project proposals/plans and develop technical test objectives. Use Engineering principles to design test procedures and specifications based on Customer SOWs and Test Standards.
- Lead research, development, and implementation of new testing capabilities.
- Assist with technical reviews of customer SOW’s.
- Support Sales and Business Development with capture and pursuit of new opportunities.
- Work with Project Managers and customers on test plans, deviations to testing, troubleshooting and developing efficient testing processes.
- Provide support to the development, management, and planning for current and future ballistic testing capabilities and opportunities.
- Provide recommendations for testing improvements for safety and efficiency.
- Perform Testing - Provide SME support to Technicians as tests are conducted. Ensure that all necessary data is captured. May also run tests themselves.
- Data Processing - After test completion, review and interpret test data. Communicate findings to Program Manager and/or client.
- Follow all federal, state, local, and company rules and/or regulations for transportation, storage, handling, and use of any hazardous material.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Physics is required.
- Minimum 1 years of related experience in ballistics development and testing.
- Minimum 1 years experience in aspects of perforating gun assembly, operating procedures, and explosive safety.
- Experience in working in a team environment.
- This role is required to be on-site in a lab.
- Bachelor's Degree in Weapons Engineering is desired.
- 1+ years of related experience in ballistics development and testing.
- Experience with testing Defense or Aerospace components or products, specifically in the areas of fluids, dynamics, and/or energetics preferred.
- Experience in marketing and sales is a plus.
- Prior military experience is a plus.
- Understanding of Engineering principles related to ballistics and munitions.
- Understanding Military & Aerospace compliance standards.
- Technical expertise to directly support the testing of weapons, munitions, armor, and advanced technologies.
- Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Full understanding, interpretation, and analysis of test results, which includes troubleshooting and reworking standard tests as needed.
- Good foundation of product and process applications, explosive knowledge, safety, testing, troubleshooting, and proven project execution.
- Knowledgeable in OSHA safety regulations, ATF & DOT explosives, transportation, storage, and documentation requirements.
- Ability to uphold a culture of safety and quality while performing daily tasks.
- Ability to regularly interact with clients and build productive internal/external working relationships.
- Ability to share skills and knowledge with others and to delegate responsibility.
- Good computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to develop and provide reports to management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
