The Assistant Director serves as:
  • The administrator of a region
  • A member of both the Senior Leadership Team and the Administrators Group
  • A partner with the Directors for School Settings, Student Services, and Compliance and Quality Assurance in planning and leading the monthly SESS Coordinator meetings
A member of the Level Cross-Functional Rapid Support Team led by the level Academic SuperintendentThe Assistant Director arranges and/or provides professional development, guidance and support to

The Assistant Director provides specialized leadership across categories of special education or areas of work.The Assistant Director performs other related duties as requested by the Executive Director of Special Education.QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED:
  • Master’s Degree in a related field
  • MA DESE or Board of Registration Licensure in Special Education or Related Field
  • MA DESE Licensure in Supervision or Administration
  • Three (3) years experience teaching or providing services in urban special education or related field
  • Experience providing leadership and supervision in urban special education or related field
  • Demonstrated knowledge of special education regulations and best practices
  • Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment
QUALIFICATIONS - PREFERRED:
  • Experience in special education administration and supervision
  • Proficiency in a language other than English
