Overview:The Financial Services Manager leads the Financial Services department in decision support, costing and reimbursement, and budgeting operations. This person must collaborate with other hospital departments to effectively use the organization�s finances. The Financial Services Manager must demonstrate excellent customer service performance in that his/her attitude and actions are at all times consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission and Values of Covenant HealthCare and the commitment to Extraordinary Care for Every Generation. Responsibilities:� Provides direct supervision to financial analyst personnel and works together effectively with other financial services and reimbursement team members� Manages the development and maintenance of the cost accounting and decision support system, productivity reporting, budgeting, and financial reporting� Collaborates with department leaders on cost studies, adjusts for operational changes, and supports accurate costing of new procedures� Responsible for developing and managing departmental proformas and consulting activities.� Preparation of long-range financial planning, short term planning, and ad hoc reporting with Corporate Controller� Maintains and improves internal financial training to hospital leaders and staff� Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational and professional programs, literature, meetings and training
Qualifications:EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS� Bachelor�s degree in accounting or finance required, CPA or master�s degree preferred.� Minimum of five years of healthcare experience in budgeting, decision support or reimbursement required.KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES� Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Office, costing, budgeting, and financial reporting software� Knowledge regarding multi-entity financial statement reporting, hospital revenue cycle, and productivity� Ability to prepare budgets, short-term and long-term forecasts, and analyze costs� Sound judgment in handling confidential or sensitive issues and material with attention to detail� Excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated organizational skills� Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
