
System Administrator

- Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and related hardware/software.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability.
- Apply patches, updates, and security configurations in accordance with IT policies.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in Active Directory and other systems.
- Support backup and disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Maintain documentation for systems, configurations, and procedures.
- Assist with IT audits, compliance checks, and vulnerability assessments.
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for escalated technical issues.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity and IT teams to enforce security best practices.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in system administration (Windows, Linux, or both).
- Proficiency in virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), networking, and scripting (PowerShell, Bash).
- Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) and remote monitoring tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or RHCSA preferred.
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet) preferred.
- Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards (NIST, FISMA, etc.) preferred.
