Position DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to support the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) / Integrated Experiments and Evaluation Division (RVE) in cradle-to-grave project efforts.Responsibilities include:Support Hardware/Software-in-the-Loop and Cloud Computing Architecture development and administration tasks.Contribute to the development of flight experiment and space technology requirements, including:Defining mission scope, design tradeoffs/alternatives, and concepts of operationAddressing mission constraints, creating conceptual designs, and conducting mission analysesRefining programmatic objectives into actionable requirementsProducing analyses and documentation for laboratory, range, ground, near-space, and space flight experimentsManaging requirement flow-downs, interface management, and the development of CONOPSQualifications Required:5+ years of experience in aerospace structural analysisExpertise in:Vehicle load path definitionDevelopment of free-body diagrams and strength analysisAnalysis of stability-critical structuresProven ability in structural design, analysis, and testing of aerospace systems for flight test applicationsExtensive experience with:Finite Element Analysis (FEA)Stress, load, thermal, vibration, and fatigue testingStrong knowledge of materials used in aerospace (e.g., composites, metals, alloys) and their behavior under flight conditionsUnderstanding of systems engineering principles, particularly integration and validation of structural componentsActive DoD Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility (U.S. Citizenship required)Qualifications Desired:Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution
