For additional information on remote work at Penn State, see .JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTSARL's Supply Chain Department is looking for a self-disciplined, highly motivated, and customer service-oriented individual for the role of IT Support Specialist Intern to provide customer support for the Applied Research Laboratory at the Pennsylvania State University.ARL/Penn State’s purpose is to research and develop innovative solutions to challenging scientific, engineering, and technology problems in support of the Navy, the Department of Defense (DoD), and the Intel Community (IC).This position will be responsible for new account setup, resolving account issues, and maintaining active user accounts.You will:Assist file exchange users with password resets, MFA resets, and new account setupAssist file exchange users unlock suspended accountsAdd/remove permissions to file exchange share spaces and delete inactive user accountsSet up new file folder structures as requested by ARL staffCreate group permissions, troubleshoot any file access issuesInvestigate application issues, perform cause analysis, and take corrective actionsPerform yearly auditsCreate/update documentation and frequently asked questionsUpdate the user data in the Supply Chain Database; as new suppliers are added, ensure their user information is reflected in DatabaseRequired skills/experience areas include:Past success in providing ideas in written form for clear comprehension to an audienceDemonstrated ability to work through a difficult problem, using proper steps to define and formulate ideas to reach a solutionSuccess in an office environment, where various forms of communication and organizational skills were crucial to be effectiveDemonstrated ability to exercise discretionAbility to express yourself and ideas successfully to others in order to provide understandingDemonstrated organization skillsPreferred skills/experience areas include:Current secret government security clearanceYour working location will be fully on-site, located in State College, PA.ARL/Penn State’s purpose is to research and develop innovative solutions to challenging scientific, engineering, and technology problems in support of the Navy, the Department of Defense (DoD), and the Intel Community (IC).FOR FURTHER INFORMATION on ARL, visit our web site atBACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.All positions at ARL require candidates to possess the ability to obtain a government security clearance; you will be notified during the interview process if this position is subject to a government background investigation.
