We have a global presence selling our products in over 50 countries with manufacturing facilities in nine countries and offices across North America, Europe and Asia.Job DescriptionThe Engineering RF Technician performs a wide variety of assembly and test operations to create precision electro-mechanical or electronic assemblies or sub-assemblies. Determines and/or follows method and sequence of operations in performing tasks such as fabricating, RF testing for gain, phase noise, VSWR, isolation and insertion loss, troubleshooting, repairing, modifying electronic developmental and production equipment, parts, components, and systems according to engineering instructions with minimal supervision. Must meet the requirement of being a U.S. Citizen and ability to obtain a security clearance.Responsibilities:
  • Performs moderately complex technical functions in support of engineering activities such as set up, operation, maintenance, modification, circuit testing, calibration and troubleshooting of electronic or electro-mechanical components and systems, experimental design circuitry, prototype models or specialized test equipment.
  • Create Alignment, Tuning procedure describing the steps taken to troubleshoot and make the device meet specification
  • The ability to read and understand supplier data sheets and use the information to improve device performance
  • The ability to read and understand customer specifications and translate that into performance testing
  • Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal instructions.
  • Conducts engineering tests to collect design data or assist in general research work.
  • Diagnoses and isolate non compliances, participate in determining failure root cause, and make or describe necessary repairs.
  • Participates in special projects as required.
  • Must be able to work in a changing fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
  • Work closely with designers, engineers, and quality personnel.
  • Maintains calibration and shelf-life on all equipment in assigned workspace.
  • Complies with and ensures department compliance with Company health, safety and environmental policies.
  • Complies with all applicable U.S. export control and security regulations.
  • Meets department's quality workmanship standards.
  • Meets on-time delivery requirements.
  • This is not a remote or hybrid-remote position. It requires reliable transportation and in-person work at our Tampa, FL facility.
QualificationsTechnical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of bench top lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, power meters, signal generators, frequency counters), soldering iron and rework stations.
  • Ability to grip, pinch, grasp, bend, crouch, kneel and twist to operate various tools and machines for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to perform in a team environment with good interpersonal skills with commitment to the highest quality achievable and work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to meet or exceed quality and quantity standards and comply with all safety requirements.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, in English.
  • Ability to modify work schedule to support the demands of engineering or production.
  • Experienced use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, Word) preferred.
  • Strong willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Identifies problems or improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to work from verbal instructions
Physical Demands:
  • Capable of utilizing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): gloves and eye protection.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility.
  • Must be able to work Overtime.
Experience: 5 years' minimum of related microwave integrated product experience preferredEducation: High School Diploma or GED equivalent or Tech School. 2 - 4 years Electronics/RF Technology, Military or Technical School preferred.Security: U.S. Citizen required.
