There are 29 Diocesan elementary schools and 6 Diocesan high schools throughout our Diocese.Job Description:GENERAL DESCRIPTIONThe Technical & AV Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting Notre Dame Preparatory’s campus events and performing arts programming. Reporting to the Assistant Director of On-Campus Events, this position oversees the school’s audio-visual needs and the daily operations of the Performing Arts Center. The coordinator works closely with faculty, staff, students, and parent volunteers to provide technical support for events, classes, and performances. Responsibilities include managing equipment and facilities, operating sound and lighting systems, coordinating technical aspects of productions, and ensuring a professional standard of AV support across campus. The position also performs related duties as assigned in alignment with the policies of the Diocese of Phoenix.Responsibilities & Duties
  • Set up, operate, and tear down audio-visual equipment, including tables, chairs, risers, instruments, and related items as needed.
  • Coordinate with event organizers (faculty, staff, students, and volunteers) to identify and fulfill audio-visual needs.
  • Maintain, inventory, and operate all lighting, sound, scenic, and audio-visual equipment across campus, with emphasis on the Performing Arts Center.
  • Manage the Performing Arts Center and its recording studio, including audio, video, and live streaming.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with audio-visual systems and equipment.
  • Stay current with advancements in audio-visual and theatre technology.
  • Provide on-site support for campus events, including evenings and weekends as required.
  • Train and support students, faculty, and staff in the safe and effective use of equipment.
  • Uphold NDP’s values of respect and professionalism across campus.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
  • High school diploma required; degree or technical certification in theatre production, audio-visual technology, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in theatre production, AV coordination, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency with lighting, sound, projection, and recording systems (e.g., ETC lighting), as well as video production tools including NewTek TriCaster and video editing software (e.g., Premiere Pro).
  • Strong organizational, troubleshooting, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and set up heavy/large equipment as needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate with diverse groups.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.
Position Requirements
  • High school diploma (minimum)
  • Fingerprint clearance (as required by state law)
  • Relevant audio-visual (AV) experience
  • Experience supporting performing arts, including theatre and musical productions
Full-Time, 11-Month Salaried Position
