Job Description:The Arc of Rensselaer County is seeking a Director of Human Resources to lead and oversee daily HR operations. This position plays a key role in recruitment, hiring, onboarding, staff development, employee relations, and compliance. The Director works closely with the Associate Executive Director of HR to ensure policies and practices support the agency's mission, foster positive employee relations, and meet legal and regulatory standards.The Director will guide a team of HR staff, manage recruitment strategies, and oversee training and development programs that strengthen our workforce. They will also support supervisors and managers with performance management, policy interpretation, and disciplinary actions when needed. A strong focus on employee engagement, retention, and recognition is essential. The position also involves handling sensitive HR matters such as background checks, unemployment claims, and compliance reporting.This role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to work collaboratively across departments, and a commitment to building a diverse and motivated workforce. Master's Degree, in a Management or related field, and 3+ years HR experience
Or
Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 5 years HR experience.
Position requires proficiency in MS Office computer applications and database management.
