- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
- Install, modify, and troubleshoot electrical systems, such as lighting, power distribution, motors, generators, transformers, switchgear, control panels, fire alarms, and data communication.
- Test and inspect electrical systems and components using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Repair or replace faulty or damaged wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand and power tools.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with other tradespeople, contractors, engineers, and customers.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent.
- Follow all established safety policies and procedures and report any hazards or injuries to the supervisor.
- Supervise, train, and mentor apprentice electricians and helpers.
- Keep current on the latest developments and innovations in the electrical field.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Licensed as a Journeyman Electrician (State of Wisconsin), or have at least 3,000 hours in the electrical field (must be able to prove, and get approved to take Residential Journeyman, or Journeyman test upon hire).
- At least three years of experience as an electrician (apprentice time counts!)
- Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety practices
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Skill in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems and equipment
- Experience with PLCs, VFDs, motors, generators, transformers, and lighting systems.
