Position DescriptionDEFINITION:The NCOEMS Clinical Coordinator and Instructor is responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating instruction within the EMS programs, including Continuing Education (CE) and Credit (CU) offerings. This position coordinates clinical education and documentation to ensure compliance with accreditation standards, state regulations, and industry best practices.***This is a Time Limited, Temporary Full Time Grant Funded Position. Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS STATEMENTS:Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:Essential Functions:
Plan, direct, and participate in clinical education and documentation for the Emergency Medical Services programs (CU and CE); maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance in clinical hours of each course.
Ensure accurate documentation of the evaluation and progression of student clinical performance.
Provide program requirements of the personnel who supervise or instruct students at clinical and capstone field internship sites. CAAHEP Standards and Guidelines
Coordinate the assignment of students to clinical and field internship sites. CAAHEP Standards and Guidelines
Continuously monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures; assess and monitor workload, administrative and support systems, and internal reporting relationships; identify opportunities for improvement and review with the program director
Develop and draft materials necessary for clinical education and classroom instruction with the direction and approval of the program director.
Provide classroom and lab instruction in the EMS programs for the college.
Other Important Functions:
Assess material, supply, and equipment needs for the clinical portions of the Emergency Medical Service programs; submit requests for the ordering of supplies to the program director.
Participate in the academic program efforts to recruit and retain students; coordinate the development, review, and revision of program publications, publicity and other community relations' activities.
Work with industry partners and faculty to ensure our programs are teaching the most up to date techniques and the latest industry trends.
Coordinate activities with student services in the implementation of CFCC Emergency Medical Services programs admission, progression, and graduation policies.
Ensure the adherence to safe and appropriate work practices and procedures.
Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge of:
Organizational and management practices as applied to the planning, analysis and evaluation of programs, policies and operational needs
Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes and regulations including NCOEMS, CoAEMPS, and CAAHEP
Principles and procedures of clinical program development and administration in the area of assignment
Current trends, research and development in the area of assignment
Emergency Medical Services programs (CU and CE) and curriculum
Emergency Medical Services programs (CU and CE) evaluation of student learning and performance CAAHEP Standards and Guidelines
Ability To:
Interpret and apply college goals, objectives, policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
Interpret and apply Federal, State and local policies, procedures, laws and regulations including NCOEMS, CoAEMPS, and CAAHEP.
Analyze problems; identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of goals.
Effectively direct the provisions of the academic area to which they are assigned in support of the college programs.
Gain cooperation through discussion and persuasion.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES:Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:Minimum Education/Training:
AAS in Emergency Medical Services or closely related field
Documented experience in Emergency Medical Services
Documented Emergency Medical Services preceptor experience
Preferred Education/Training:
BS in Emergency Medical Services, or closely related field
AEMT or Paramedic certification
Minimum Experience:
At least three (3) years of professional experience in the Emergency Medical Service field
