- Researches and monitors transportation safety outlets at federal, state and local level to inform communications on SafeTREC websites and social media;
- Assists with development and monitoring of communications/social media plans;
- Develops, publishes, and maintains web content, graphics, visual, audio, and digital assets;
- Integrates best practices for communications/social media.
- Responds to media requests;
- Coordinates and maintains contacts with internal/external partners;
- Monitors and evaluates effectiveness of dissemination of news and digital content.
- Functions well in a team setting;
- Responds to give and take of project needs;
- Utilizes knowledge of project management skills.
- Completes other duties, as assigned.
- Basic knowledge of concepts and principles of effectively communicating across a variety of news, digital, and social media communications platforms.
- Experience using communications tools such as Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier), Microsoft Office Suite, Mailchimp or Constant Contact, Google Drive, Canva, Google Suite, Drupal, Wordpress, etc.
- Good written, verbal, interpersonal communication skills, political acumen, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Good organizational and project management skills.
- Skills in graphic design, video editing, audio editing, and ensuring digital accessibility.
- Experience developing social media, outreach, and website communications content.
- Basic knowledge of communications, public health, and/or transportation concepts.
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
- Basic knowledge of and/or ability to learn SafeTREC, including its achievements, mission, vision, goals, objectives, research, education, programs, and infrastructure.
- This is a 18-month, 100%, full-time (40 hours per week), contract position that is eligible for full UC benefits with the possibility of extension.
- This position is non-exempt and bi-weekly.
