- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, horticulture or other related, or 8 years related field or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements.
- Construction landscape services experience preferred
- Knowledge of plant, irrigation, construction and drainage
- Knowledge of material and labor costs
- Supervisor experience required
- As required by state and federal law
- Valid driver license issued by the state where employed
- OSHA Safety Certificate a plus
- Certified Construction Manager a plus
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to analyze and solve problems
- Strong customer service skills, with internal and external clients
- Effective oral and written communication
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans/drawings
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and perform well under deadlines
- Organizational skills
- Ability to use and understand of Microsoft Office Suite, and Project Management Software
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram and/or schedule format
- Ability to speak effectively before employees and clients
- Ability to read, write and comprehend English
- Bilingual English and Spanish a plus
- Ability to work independently and manage complex projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and Project/Construction Management Software
- Excellent communications skills
- Excellent ability to read and interpret construction plans/drawings
- Excellent ability to prioritize multiple tasks and perform well under deadlines
- Bilingual abilities a plus
- Supervise foreman and direct reports
- Study drawings, specs, revisions, budget, worksheets and submittal package
- Complete material take-offs
- Prepare monthly progress payment requests
- Assist crew(s) - labor, bring materials or equipment as needed
- Evaluate progress against budget and worksheets
- Maintain adequate crew size for job's needs
- Review budget(s) with General Superintendent or Sr. Superintendent
- Manage several jobs simultaneously
- Review and approve timecards
- Move and or coordinate equipment and materials to job sites
- Monitors jobs during warranty period
- Manage subcontractors – includes schedule, submittals, billings, safety
- Prepare requests for change orders/extra work orders/RFIs
- Solidify relationships with general contractors, owners, and architects in order to assist in retaining future work through negotiations
- Work with architect, general contractor, owner to resolve changes in work
- Ensure safety on every project by enforcing safety training and meetings, as well as consistently monitor job sites for potential safety hazards
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and safety standards
- Constantly promote and encourage adherence to company policies and best practices
- Maintain general knowledge of company policies and procedures
- Maintain general knowledge of unions
- Meet with estimator to discuss job, questions and change orders
- Make changes in operations as necessary to best meet construction deadlines
- Diligent budget review, ensuring projects are not over budget
- Ensure customer satisfaction
- Assisting Associate Superintendent
- Recruitment, training, cross-training and development of field staff
- Work with General Superintendent to create concurrent, prompt, and thorough documentation of all coaching, conversations, counseling, and performance management discussions with employees
- Maintain good knowledge of company policies and procedures.
- Maintain good knowledge of unions and start building relationships with local unions
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills; develop morale and recognize employee achievements; foster opportunities for professional development of employees

- Constantly required to talk, hear, see, sit, stand and walk
- Must be able to see at close vision, distant vision, in color, peripherally, have depth perception and have the ability to adjust focus
- Frequent use of hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools or controls
- Frequently required to reach, bend, twist, stoop, crouch, climb and balance
- Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and seldom lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Frequently required to use computer-based systems
- Frequently required to work outdoors in all weather conditions

- Occasionally works with mechanical objects and outside in all weather conditions
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals
