We want you to apply!Job Summary and QualificationsPOSITION SUMMARY: A Medical Technologist’s role is to provide accurate laboratory results in a timely manner. Laboratory results aid clinical practitioners in confirming or ruling out diagnoses, monitoring chronic disease states, and analyzing the effects of medical therapies.QUALIFICATIONS: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential core function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, experience, and ability necessary to achieve this role.ESSENTIAL CORE FUNCTIONS:1. Uses knowledge of laboratory science to perform the most complex clinical testing as defined by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIAA ’88) providing safe and effective patient care.2. Maintains strict safety and infection control techniques at all times.3. Practices, develops and endorses customer service skills in relationships with internal and external customers.4. Participate in Quality Improvement activities as assigned.5. Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, quality of care or the services delivered.6. Follows established guidelines for reporting a significant medical error or unanticipated outcome in the patient’s care which result in patient harm. Uses occurrence reporting system to report potential patient safety issues.7. Demonstrates knowledge of Laboratory Information System.8. Completes all mandatory education requirements.9. Uses Performance Improvement Plan to improve patient safety.10. Regular, punctual and dependable attendance.11. Possible “Call” responsibilities.12.
