How you'll make an impact
  • Primary focus:
  • To provide guidance and assistance to account teams and clients by using financial decision making tools
  • Conducting client facing meetings when appropriate
  • Speaking effectively on behalf of the underwriting team regarding core services.
  • Key responsibilities include:
  • Analyzing data from carriers on clients and providing recommendations to account management teams or to clients in order to effectively negotiate rates and funding levels
  • Evaluating and presenting monthly, quarterly and annual reports that measure client financial status
  • Tracking expenses by product line, renewal projections, funding levels and rates, etc. to the Account management teams and to clients when necessary
  • Evaluating, assigning, monitoring and peer review reports generated by underwriting team subordinates.
  • Assists in the preparation of presentations, campaigns, communication materials, newsletters, etc. to internal staff and clients / prospects regarding underwriting policies and scope of services.
  • Acts as a resource regarding industry trends and technologies for account service and consulting, new sales, and additional sales to existing client
About YouRequired:
  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years within employee benefits field in an underwriting capacity.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications and Microsoft Office.
Preferred:
  • Advanced Excel Skills.
  • Math or Finance degree preferred.
Behaviors:
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong analytical skills and good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to multi-task to meet deadlines with quality and accurate deliverables.
  • Must maintain favorable relationships with clients, vendors and other office staff.
