1. Assist teacher in planning and working with young children and follow her approach.
2. Assist in the development of a learning environment that emphasizes communication skills and social-emotional development3. Use a positive approach in dealing with all behaviors.
4. Maintain cooperative working relationships with colleagues and parents.
5. Deal with children fairly and impartially.
6. Utilize observational skills in learning about each child.
7. Maintain program organization necessary for operating a classroom (i.e., preparing activities, maintain an orderly room, clean and organize materials)8. Accompany students to general education classrooms as assigned; provide individual instructional assistance.9. Demonstrate professional standards of appearance, ethics, and behavior, which serve as a positive model for children and parents.
