PeoplesBank Arena will continue to be the center of sports and entertainment for Hartford and the State of Connecticut for years to come. Responsibilities:
- Arrives for work on time for each scheduled shift, in uniform and ready to work
- Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to take both verbal and written direction
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis
- Ability to stand on feet for up to 8 hours at a time, kneel, stoop, climb stair, and reach/lift above head in conjunction with ice maintenance tasks
- Responsible for ice resurfacing, ice edging and overall ice quality
- Perform various general maintenance functions for equipment, including blade changes, exercising adequate judgment to ensure completion of tasks as assigned
- Assist in maintaining, cleaning and safety checking all machines, and areas surrounding as needed
- Monitor all refrigeration equipment, keep necessary records and logbooks on equipment, and inform the Ice Operations Manager if systems or equipment is malfunctioning
- Assist in cleaning up ice before and after events and setup game day ice crew area
- Works safely, quickly and efficiently to meet all deadlines
- Maintains a positive, outgoing demeanor
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- All other tasks assigned by Supervisor
- Experience working in an ice rink setting preferred
- Comfortable in front of large crowds
- Comfortable operating Resurfacer with intermission rider
- Valid Driver’s License
- 2 years’ experience operating ice resurfacing equipment preferred
- Previous experience with ice edger and forklift equipment preferred
