Location: Harrington Elementary SchoolDescription:
- Design, supervise and implement students' IEP plans
- Instruct students using specialized curriculum programs/methodology
- Develop curriculum modifications and adaptations.
- Participate in IEP Team meetings.
- Write effective IEPs for students
- Collect and analyze student data and monitor student progress
- Effectively work with a team of professionals to coordinate services
- Consult with general education teacher and related service providers.
- Assist classroom teachers with instructional strategies to facilitate inclusion.
- Write quarterly progress reports for IEP goals that are data based on student performance.
- Administer various diagnostic achievement assessments (WIAT-III, Woodcock Johnson IV, Key Math, GORT 5, CTOPP etc) that identifies student capabilities as part of initial and reevaluation for students.
- Write effective evaluation reports summarizing findings and making recommendations for assigned students.Requirements:Successful candidates will hold a Master's degree in special education from an accredited college or universityMA DESE Teaching License-- PreK-8 Moderate Special Needs license is requiredTraining and experience with specialized reading programs (OG, Wilson, LIPS, etc) or being willing to be trained.Experience in modifying and adapting curriculum to assure students can access the curriculum.Ability to effectively consult and work collaboratively with various service providers and support staff.Solid organizational skills.Experience with IEP development is required.
