
Test Engineering Technician

- Reads and interprets test plans, procedures, and drawings.
- Conducts testing of fire suppression products in accordance with supplied procedures.
- This function includes assembly of test items, acquisition/procurement of test equipment, set-up of tests, running tests, data collection, tear down of test systems, and other incidental tasks.
- Works with data acquisition equipment to collect data. Collects and reduces operational and test data and information.
- Works with other technicians and personnel to meet program requirements.
- Mentor Entry Test Engineering Technicians (Level I) and assist Lead Test Engineering Technicians (Level III) with large-scale projects.
- Conducts fire tests and demonstrations using fire protection equipment and required PPE, as well provides backup protection during fire testing.
- Operates forklifts.
- Performs various housekeeping duties.
- Identifies and assists in remediation of any and all safety hazards in the work place.
- Maintains a good safety record.
- Performs all elements of the job in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintains laboratory notebook of test data and related information.
- Writes test reports to summarize and communicate results of test programs.
