SummaryThe Part-Time Admission/Concession Specialist is under the supervision of the facility supervisor or assistant supervisor or designee. This position is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction, cleanliness and food safety in concessions and admissions. It is this person's job to direct and oversee all activities of the snack bar in accordance with the FDA (Food and Drug Administration), Florida Department of Health and the Florida Department of Agriculture. Employees in this position serve as the initial point of contact for all guest interaction responding to the needs, requests and/or inquiries of the establishment's concession stand and admissions booth, while searching for and providing guests with answers or solutions to their concerns as instructed by the Supervisor.The Admission & Concession Specialist will perform a variety of work including the direct supervision of all Guest Service Representatives working in Concessions and the Admissions booth. Responsibilities include: greeting members and guests, retail sales, cash register transactions, merchandising, inventory, customer service, daily revenue summary and security of facility. Work is performed within the guidelines of set policy and procedures and under the general guidance of the facility supervisor or assistant supervisor. He/she must have the knowledge to answer customer questions regarding hours of operation, facility, services and all parks programs.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification.Supervision of admission, concession and reception areas.Train and supervise employees in the proper operation of concessions and admissions including:

  • Safety in the Work Place
Perform required clerical duties. Prepare reports and documents in accordance with departmental procedures. Complete financial reports for admission, concession and reception operations.Operate a Point of Sale system/cash register and perform mathematical calculations.Assist customers with program registration, facility rentals and memberships.Operate a variety of office equipment including a multi-line telephone system, computer, copy machine and fax machine.Provide exceptional customer service in person and over the telephone.Assist in preparing the facility, equipment and/or materials for recreational activities, facility rentals and special events.Observe, enforce and comply with all policies, rules, regulations, laws and ordinances of the facility, the department and the City of Coral Gables.Maintain supply and equipment inventory control. Perform cost control activities and reports. Issue, receive and oversee the use and care of recreation and/or facility supplies and equipment.Assist in the maintenance and cleanliness of the facility and equipment.Administer basic first aid as required and prepare and complete required paperwork related to first aid.Attend all staff meetings, trainings and other functions as required.Secure facility at the close of daily operations.Work evenings and weekends as required.Performs other related tasks as required.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentRetail and cash handling experience preferredConcessions experience preferredPART-TIME (15-24 Hours):ANNUAL LEAVE: 4 days per year (1 day is equivalent to 4.80 hours). Leave is accrued but not able to use during first 90 days of employment.SICK LEAVE: 4 days per year. Employees may convert to annual leave 15 hours if more than 2 days have been accrued and unused during the fiscal year.HOLIDAYS: 13 holidays (If scheduled to work, plus 1 floating day).BEREAVEMENT: 3 Days for the death of an immediate family member (Parent, spouse, or child) and 2 days for any other immediate family member.ADMINISTRATIVE SICK LEAVE: Employees who have not used sick leave, leave without pay, or have not lost time due to an on-the-job injury in a 6 month period are entitled to 1 day of administrative leave.CASH PAY OUT OF VACATION: Employees may request payment of accrued/earned annual leave not to exceed 15 hours at the rate of pay in effect at the time of the request, provided such request is made no later than September 30, 2015 (or as amended every fiscal year).MILITARY LEAVE: 30 work days every year with pay and the remainder of the period shall be without pay, unless otherwise provided by City Commission.JURY DUTY: Time off with pay if scheduled to work.PART-TIME (25 -29 Hours)ANNUAL LEAVE: 8 days per year (1 day is equivalent to 5.80 hours). Leave is accrued but not able to use during first 90 days of employment.SICK LEAVE: 8 days per year.
