This position will ensure seamless delivery of services, optimizing resource utilization, supporting service line leaders, and develop a robust academic partnership with Rutgers. The EVP will play a critical role in enhancing the organization’s hospital-based services to achieve superior clinical outcomes, operational excellence, and financial growth.Reports to:
The Executive Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer of Hospital-Based Clinical Service Lines reports directly to John Doll, Chief Operating Officer, RWJBarnabas Health
Qualifications:
MD or DO degree with board certification
Medical License in the state of NJ
MBA, or MPH or equivalent preferred
10+ years of experience leading hospital-based physician groups within an acute care hospital or health system
Essential Functions:Strategic Leadership and Service Line Optimization
Develop and implement a strategic vision for hospital-based service lines to align with organizational goals and academic integration.
Organize service lines to promote efficiency, scalability, and alignment with clinical and quality best practices.
Identify opportunities for growth and innovation within service lines to enhance the organization’s market position.
Provides mentorship and promotes leadership development for service line and clinical leaders.
Academic Excellence
Focused collaboration with GME for optimization of clinical practices.
Advancement of clinical knowledge to improve patient outcomes and community health through research and teaching.
Optimize residency programs and development of fellowships.
Fosters and maintains a collaborative relationship with the Dean of Rutgers Medical School.
Operational Efficiency and Clinical Quality
Establish and maintain service line structures that drive operational efficiencies through evidence-based clinical protocols and quality improvement initiatives.
Partners with hospital leadership to ensure alignment of goals and initiatives.
Oversee recruiting to ensure service lines are staffed and resourced appropriately to deliver high-quality patient care while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
Monitor clinical outcomes and implement strategies to achieve or exceed industry benchmarks.
Ensures adherence to clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
Financial and Revenue Cycle Oversight
Oversee the development and implementation of standardized processes to ensure accurate, compliant, and optimized billing through documentation education and template development.
Collaborate with revenue cycle management team improve coding distribution, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and reduce denials.
Responsible for financial performance of each service line.
Data-Driven Accountability
Ensure service line leaders have access to comprehensive, accurate, and timely data and reporting tools to monitor performance and drive accountability.
Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to track clinical, operational, and financial outcomes.
Foster a culture of transparency and accountability by providing actionable insights to service line leaders and their teams.
