Job Description
Title: Assistant Cross Country Coach
Job Summary: The Assistant Cross Country Coach supports the Head Coach in leading a Christ-centered cross country program that promotes athletic excellence, character development, and spiritual growth. This individual will assist in daily practices, meet preparation, team logistics, and mentoring student-athletes in alignment with the mission and values of Midland Christian School.
Lines of Authority: Reports to the Head Cross Country Coach ( Erika Mickler)
Education: High School Diploma or GED Required

- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends during the season.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional and friendly demeanor.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding the values of the Christian school.
- Experience coaching at the secondary level, preferably in a school setting.
Physical and Mental Effort: The role of the Assistant Cross Country Coach at Midland Christian involves both physical and mental exertion, requiring dedication, resilience, and a commitment to the holistic development of students.

Hours: This is a seasonal position.Essential Functions
Essential functions of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following functions. Other duties may be assigned. * Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor student-athletes in your designated sport, providing instruction, guidance, and support in both skills development and character formation.
- Assist in conducting regular practices, focusing on skill development, teamwork and sportsmanship.
- Represent the school with integrity and sportsmanship at games, competitions, and events.
- Support the Head Coach in organizing and supervising team activities, including meets, travel, and team events.
- Spiritual Development
- Model Christ-like behavior and values through actions and interactions with students. Exemplary behavior and character consistent with Christian values, serving as a positive role model for students.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
