The Specialist works closely with the ENVS Associate Chair of PMPs, Senior Associate Director of Program Administration, and Finance & Accounting Program Manager on the financial operations of the PMP programs. This position is also responsible for supervising program expenditures, calculating financial projections, providing updates and reports, and advising ENVS leadership and other faculty and staff.   • Review fiscal year budgets in collaboration with Associate Chair of Professional Master's Programs (PMPs) and Finance and Accounting Program Manager and other faculty and staff to, based upon historical data, curricular and program plans, and institutional knowledge, adjust budgets when needed.
  • Supervise the expenditure of program funds, calculate financial projections, and provide periodic reports to faculty and staff.
  • Develop and refine processes and procedures for tracking expenditures against the annual budget.
  • Analyze programmatic spending burn rates to recommend ways to reallocate funding and improve program performance.
  • Run and distribute monthly and ad hoc financial reports for faculty and staff.
  • Advise faculty and staff on how to read/interpret financial reports, as needed.
  • Advise program and department leadership on fiscal issues and appropriate procedural options.
  • Advise faculty and staff on financial services policies and procedures and approve expense reports.
  • Receive invoices and work with ENVS Finance and Accounting Professional payment to ensure expedient payment.
  • Process accounts receivable via check, electronic fund transfer, and journal entry processes, including deposits made through the Cashier's Office.
  • Serve as a departmental liaison to College of Arts & Sciences, Financial Services Center (FSC), Campus Controller's Office (CCO), and other administrative offices regarding flow and distribution of funds.
  • Coordinate program grants using InfoEd/eRA and internal procedures to supervise grant expenditures and closeouts.
  • Track spending on internal grants awarded to students and advise awardees on budgetary and expense requirements and spending timelines.
  • Special projects as assigned by the Program Manager.
  • Supervise Tuition Revenue Estimates/Actuals in collaboration with Finance & Accounting Program Manager and the College of Arts & Sciences.
  • Calculate tuition revenue flows between LEEDS & MENV for the Dual Degree program and between ORE and MENV programs.
  • Provide support to the Program Manager and Professional as needed.
Operational Improvement
  • Periodically analyze internal processes and make recommendations for improvement of fiscal and operational processes and procedures to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and accessibility of program information.

  • This is a 50% (part-time) appointment at 20 hours a week.
  • This role is on a hybrid schedule with at least 2 days a week on campus. This can be subject to change based on the business needs of the department.
  • Employee may be expected to be on campus M-F during the onboarding and training period.

  • BA/BS Degree from an accredited institution in a related field of study. Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
  • 1+ years of experience that includes:
  • Financial management experience.
  • Managing or supervising complex financial budgets.
  • Advanced Excel skills.

What We Would Like You to Have
  • BA/BS or MA/MS/MBA Degree from an accredited institution in a related field of study.
  • 2+ years of previous financial management experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in managing or supervising complex financial budgets.
  • Comfortable enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Experience navigating and reporting sensitive issues or information with good judgment and tact.
  • Experience with Power Query in Excel.
