Position Summary: Assist electricians by performing tasks under the direct supervision of an electrician actually installing the work and handling the bulk of the materials. This employee should keep all materials, tools, and equipment in an orderly fashion and keep the work area clean at all times. Demonstrate safe work habits and proper care of tools and equipment. Must complete approximately 2,000 hours of on-the-job training in each year of apprenticeship.Required Qualifications:
Must have a valid driver's license and insurable driving record
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead.
Positively identify colors of wires.
Work in restricted areas (switchgear room, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics) under supervision of his immediate electrician.
