
Fire Patroller / Paramedic

- Works a 12-hour rotating shift in Fire Department.
- Responds to emergencies within the plant including fires, hazardous materials response, ambulance calls, confined space and high angle rescues and other emergencies reported through the 911 system.
- When not responding to emergencies, the Fire Patroller (Firefighter) inspects and maintains fire protection equipment looking for any abnormalities that would jeopardize the plant fire protection system. (Examples: PFE, Fire Doors, Hydrants, Fire Valves, Fixed Fire Protection.)
- The Fire Patroller approves and signs safety permits (Examples: confined space, hot work, safe work and street block).
- Operate emergency equipment. (Examples: Ambulance, Fire Engine, Hazmat Response Vehicle)
- Must be able to perform Fire / Security Dispatch operations using software such as: SAFER system, Eastman Alert system and Workplace Chemicals list, Keltron, Genetec, Johnson Control Alarm Monitoring.
- Safety Mindset: both in emergency and non-emergency situations.
- Must have basic computer skills including keyboarding, use of Outlook and Microsoft standard applications.

- Ability to work in a team setting.
- Good follow-through without close guidance.
- Ability to meet the medical qualification criteria of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1582.
- Must meet respirator training guidelines and quality for use of SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus) respirators.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid TN or VA driver's license with the ability to get an "F" endorsement.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Licensure as an AEMT or Paramedic.
- National Registry certification and other state license will be required to obtain a TN license.
- Ability to obtain a TN Unarmed Security Officer License.
- Ability to obtain a TN Fire Fighter II Certification.
- Ability to obtain certification as a Hazardous Materials Technician.
- Ability to Complete Northeast Regional Fire Training or provide 400 Hour Basic Recruit Fire Fighting Training or equivalent.
- Candidates must be able to demonstrate basic knowledge and skills by completing the ACT WorkKeys assessment testing and attain required scores within 12 months of hire date.
