- Assists in the preparation of foods using standardized recipes and menus, and portion controls in accordance with work production standards.
- Sets up food on serving lines and/or steam tables and serves meals or meal components.
- Conducts the cashiering function in accordance with established financial and accountability procedures.
- Cleans and sanitizes all equipment and work areas including the kitchen floors, walk-in refrigerators, and storage areas. Follows established Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) procedures and food safety standards.
- Assists with maintaining production records, HACCP logs, and satellite control sheets.
- Properly stores food and supplies.
- Transports food from the base complex to the receiving school, if required.
- Reports to any site in the complex as assigned.
- One (1) year experience in the field of food service is preferred.
- Ability to understand and speak English.
- Ability to maintain good relationships with teachers, students, and other employees.
- Good human relations and communications skills.
Annual completion of continuing education/training in accordance with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Professional Standards for School Nutrition Employees.This class specification defines the types of duties and level of difficulty of work required of positions in this title.
