- Work on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles

- Exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results as well as be accountable for results, which may impact the entire function
- Knowledge of a product technology and system level integration as well as knowledge of engineering methods in a field of specialty
- Ability to interface effectively with suppliers to ensure they are both doing research and providing information on products or services that have value to the company, instigating and coordinating these efforts as necessary on a continual basis
- Communication ability through presentation, interpersonal, verbal and written skills as well as the ability to conduct presentations to peers, cross-functional teams and director level leadership
- Comprehend appropriate technologies, vendor products and competitor's offerings
- Understand and apply Dell’s long-term business goals and objectives
- Typically requires 12+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8+ years with a Master’s degree; or 5+ years with a PhD; or equivalent experience
